Maria Chiriboga was born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. After graduating high school from Colegio Internacional Montessori de Guatemala she took a gap year to decide her future. She applied to college in the United States and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she double majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from ULL in the fall of 2016, she worked as a legal assistant for Anthony M. Fazzio. Her work and support received at the Fazzio Law Firm inspired her to apply to law school. Maria graduated from LSU Law with a Juris Doctorate Degree and a Degree in Comparative Law in May 2021. While at LSU Law, Maria participated in various internal competitions and external competitions representing LSU Law. She also participated in the LSU Law Immigration clinic as a translator and eventually as a clinician herself. Maria had the honor of becoming the research assistant for the LSU Law Immigration Clinic during her last semester of law school under the supervision of the Clinic's Supervisor, Professor Pedro Gerson. Upon graduating from LSU Law, Maria was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in October 2021. Maria worked in Baton Rouge for a short time before joining The Scott Law Firm.
In her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and family. She also enjoys cooking and baking, trying new recipes whenever possible.
