Lacie grew up in the small town of Bordelonville, Louisiana. In 2009, she moved to Baton Rouge to attend undergrad at LSU where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. She then went on to graduate from Southern University Law Center. Since she was a child, Lacie has had a passion for helping people get through the toughest times of their lives.
While in Law School, Lacie began working at the East Baton Rouge Public Defender's Office as a student attorney. After graduating, she became a full-time attorney with their office. Here she was able to assist numerous clients ranging from the smallest of misdemeanors to the most serious of felony charges. In 2018, thanks to a federal grant, Lacie had the opportunity to create and lead a pretrial and bond unit within the Office. Because of this opportunity, she was able to create a place for public defenders within the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and cultivated many community and agency partnerships. As a Staff Attorney with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, Lacie worked with the Baton Rouge Homeless Community at the One Stop Center. Here she provided legal aid to help those less fortunate get back on their feet. She then had the opportunity to expand her legal portfolio when offered the position of Judicial Staff Attorney to the Honorable Judge Tureau in the 23rd Judicial District. Here she assisted in managing a Civil, Criminal, and Family docket in the parishes of Ascension, St. James, and Assumption.
Lacie's primary focus is on Criminal Defense at the State and Federal Levels. She is also a member of the Criminal Justice Panel (CJA) in the Middle District of Louisiana.
