We have some fantastic news to share with our fellow community members from El Salvador and Honduras!
The U.S. government has taken a significant step to support and protect eligible nationals from both countries by extending Temporary Protected Status (TPS). This humanitarian program offers a lifeline, granting temporary legal status and work authorization for those facing challenging circumstances in their home countries.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has made this extension to ensure that individuals from El Salvador and Honduras can continue living and working in the United States, free from the fear of deportation, while their home countries recover from ongoing issues.
The extension of TPS for El Salvador is 18 months, from September 10, 2023, through March 9, 2025, giving eligible Salvadoran nationals a chance to build their lives and contribute to the diverse fabric of our communities in Louisiana.
Existing TPS beneficiaries who wish to extend their status through March 9, 2025, must re-register during the 60-day re-registration period from July 12, 2023, through Sept. 10, 2023. That is why it is important to contact the Scott Law Firm immediately!
Similarly, for Honduras, the extension is from January 6, 2024 , and will remain in effect through July 5, 2025, offering eligible Honduran nationals an opportunity to pursue their dreams and support their families back home.
This extension brings hope and stability to thousands of families, allowing them to remain in the U.S., where they have established deep roots over the years. Furthermore, it allows individuals to obtain Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) so they can work and support their loved ones while contributing to the local economy.
